Профессиональный Театр танца «Булгары» был организован в марте 1990 года. Это известный в Татарстане и за его пределами коллектив со своим почерком, традициями и творческим лицом.
Коллектив называется «Булгары», потому что это и дань уважения историческому прошлому своего народа, и в
равной степени «булгарская тема» является мировоззрением и творческим направлением ансамбля. Взяв за основу определение, что «культура — это, прежде всего культ предков», коллектив обрел очевидный творческий ориентир. Фольклор, с его вечной новизной и бесконечным разнообразием, является источником вдохновения и основой, питающей творческий поиск.
С момента образования по сегодняшний день коллектив ансамбля радует своим творчеством зрителей не только Татарстана и России, но и зарубежья. Коллектив является лауреатом международных конкурсов «Содружество». В репертуаре ансамбля татарские народные танцы, танцы народов Урала и Поволжья (Мари, Чуваш, Башкир, Русских), а также татарские народные песни и песни татарских композиторов.
Театр Танца «Булгары» находится в расцвете творческих сил, в работе находятся много новых и интересных постановок, которые ждут своей встречи со зрителем.
